Deacon Charlie --> Fr. Charlie... join us in celebrating!
We hope everyone has had a great week! We are aware of the announcements that the CDC has made. Once we hear from the Archdiocese of St. Louis we will update you on the new regulations. But until then here are a few things to look forward to this week.
Dear St. Clare of Assisi Parish,
On Saturday, May 29th at 10am, Deacon Charlie will be ordained to the priesthood and become Fr. Charlie! The Ordination Mass is open to the public and is also being live-streamed. Please see the invitation below. Fr. Charlie will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving the following weekend, Sunday, June 6th at 12pm. We will have a light reception in Dollard Hall following the Mass for people to congratulate Fr. Charlie and to receive his blessing. We have been blessed to have Deacon Charlie with us this year and wish him well as he begins his priestly ministry for the Archdiocese.
Fr. Chris Martin
In this week's "What's your story?", Bernie Sammons, the chair of our Social Justice commission, shares how he grew in his relationship with Jesus.
Please click on the video below to view his story.
Share the stories with friends and if you haven't checked the ones out from the previous weeks you should. Everyone loves a good story!
We have now covered 4 steps to creating your story and you have seen 5 videos of people sharing their story! Are you ready to share your story with others? As a reminder these are the 4 things you want to add:
Life before Jesus Christ
Coming to know Jesus Christ
Life in Jesus Christ
Inviting others to know Jesus Christ
SHARE YOUR STORY CHALLENGE:
This week practice sharing your story with others. Family members are a great crowd to try it on. Once you have practiced sharing your story with them and get comfortable with, try sharing it with someone else that you have gotten to know over the years or maybe it's someone you have met for the first time but you feel the Holy Spirit calling you to share how a relationship with Jesus has changed your life.
If you want to view the document where we have taken the steps from over the past few weeks, please click on the button below. Gather a group of friends to go through the process with you.

FUTURE PRAYER WARRIORS | Building a relationship with Jesus
So did you try your hand at Lectio Divina this past weekend and week with the daily readings? What were your thoughts on praying with scripture in this way? When we start to develop our prayer life many times we wonder how to discern between what is our will and what is God's will. Check out the videos by Chris Stefanick. One gives tips on how to hear God's voice in prayer and the second is about 4 tips to prayer.
FUTURE PRAYER WARRIOR CHALLENGE: Try praying with A.C.T.S.
In Chris' video he goes through four steps of prayer: A.C.T.S. = Adoration, Contrition, Thanksgiving, Stuff. Try this form of prayer this week.
Give God praise and honor for who he is as Lord over all.
Honestly deal with the sin in your prayer life.
Verbalize what you’re grateful for in your life and in the world around you.
Pray for the needs of others and yourself.
